An effective tool to spiritually revive church officers

In our life as Presbyterians we know that nearly everything begins with the Session. We also know that church officers - elders, deacons, trustees - tire and burn out under the constant burdens of everyday church ministry, programs and issues. PFR Congregational Renewal Ministry has designed a brief, but very effective tool to spiritually revive church officers. This retreat-style event is normally conducted in four sessions, often Friday evening through Saturday afternoon. Preparation requires regular group prayer by the officers for four to six weeks prior to the event. We have also discovered that many congregations have found it helpful to have a PFR Officer Development Retreat prior to an all-congregation Congregational Renewal Event.
