andrew_purves.jpg One of the controversial issues facing the 217th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is a report entitled “The Trinity: God’s Love Overflowing.” At a recent PFR Conference in Cincinnati, Professor Andrew Purves from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary offered a summary of his concerns about this report. Here Purves speaks extemporaneously, elaborating on some points made in his recent article in Theology Matters, which is entitled "A Name is Not a Metaphor."
